Are you in town for Spring Beak and wondering what’s happening toward the end of the season here in Park City, Utah? When most Western Ski Towns here in the Rocky Mountains are winding down for the season, our festive town and ski resorts are still going strong!
When Canyons Resort took shape back in 1999 the ski resort began a mid-mountain party in the Annual Spring Gruv Festival. Back in the 90’s the festival was one day of partying with the resort’s infamous Pond Skimming Competition and a local band.
Fast forward to today and Spring Gruv is now ongoing from March 23-April 1, 2012 with several added contests, free concerts and a fun time for all!
Still the highlight of the festival has got to be the Pond Skimming Event. With benches made of snow, a 100-foot pond of frigid ice water and crazy costume-clad contestants eager to take their shot at getting to the other side without a dunk, this is an event you’re not going to want to miss!
